Like all of you - time is moving too fast here and my days are filled to brim. Though I'm not blogging often, I try to keep up with all of you and comment when I can.
Just a quick note today to share my latest obsession - Emerson Fry Fall '14. Words cannot describe the gorgeous that is Emerson Fry. I interpret the Emerson ascetic as the cool girl with an eye for tailoring and classics that can be worn again and again. I have one top from Emerson Fry - it is beautifully made and was completely worth the investment.
The Early Access for fall started this morning and when I called to ask a few questions - the always wonderful customer service associate was helpful, patient and charming. It is so refreshing to talk to someone who is hands on with all of the clothes and could answer my questions.
For me the outfit below is perfect for late fall and winter. Texture, layers, comfort and a totally chic vibe that I could wear for work, evening and weekend. All it would need for me is a scarf and a bracelet for some color and I'd wear it everywhere.
While I love a little drama in a dress, versatility is a must. I've got high hopes for the V Column dress below. I think the print is amazing and a wool silk blend should be just right for style to hold it's shape without being either too flimsy or structured. My figure works better with a style that is fitted at the waist, but I in my mind I can rock this modern cut. I did order it - so we'll just have to wait and see if it is meant to be. I'm picturing it with knee high dress
boots purchased at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for my birthday - and my most favorite J Crew tuxedo top coat.
Do you have any fashion obsessions for fall? My closet is fairly packed, and with new boots in place all I need are a couple of stylish basic tops and sweaters and more color - preferably in the berry and wine tones that have will probably hit stores next month.
I'm planning to be back soon...thanks for hanging in there with me....all my best.
Julie
Julie I was just thinking about you so I'm very happy to see this post and know you are busy but well! EF, well the fall collection is just stunning. Please let us know about that dress when it arrives. I also own that JCrew tuxedo top coat and I'm trying to imagine a weekend wardrobe around it for an event we're attending this fall, so I'll be very curious about your thoughts on the dress (and the fit).
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm obsessed with my older JCrew pieces in yellow tones and the animal prints that look so great with them, with my favourite brown riding boots and fall bag. Autumn is the best season for putting together a closet!
Take care Julie, xox!
Hi Dani, Thanks for stopping by! You have some gorgeous classic J Crew pieces. My stepson is getting married in a year and the festivities kick off with an engagement party in a few weeks, but sadly the dress won't arrive in time. I have a few other options; isn't it is fun to plan for events. We have at least a month of warm weather before the chill sets in, just a bit of fall wardrobe planning for me so far. Take good care!
ReplyDeleteI am so calling about the back seam trousers!!!! I love your choices and gave you a shout out in the blog today!
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy-Thanks! Those trousers would be great for you ;-)
DeleteGreat picks!! I wasn't that taken with EF's spring collection but the new fall collection is really good. Autumn is also my favourite season - I'm just waiting for the weather to cool down!! It's so hot in New York right now!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lousie-Spring at EF was not good for me either. I have high hopes for the pieces I ordered. Stay tuned...
DeleteI seem to be struggling with blogger and missed this post. I will try EF again...it'll be a surprise... And am hoping it works this time. Love the print dress but after springs choice I do know I need shape at the waste.
ReplyDeleteHi BB-The pretty EF print is also offered in a classic blouse style. Maybe that will work :-)
